One-to-One Support Now Available for Parents and Caregivers in Southern Maryland

Beth Hess - Tuesday, January 19, 2016

One-to-one support is now available to Southern Maryland parents and caregivers of children and youth with behavioral health needs. MCF now has Family Navigators serving families in Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties. A Family Navigator is a parent who has cared for a child with behavioral health challenges and has been trained to help other families. Any parent or caregiver can call a Family Navigator to request assistance for their child, aged 0–21 years, with behavioral health challenges. There is no cost for Family Navigation Services.

To reach a Family Navigator for Charles or St. Mary’s counties, please call Julie Hendricks at 240-577-4776. To reach a Family Navigator in Calvert County, please call Julie Poe at 443-545-9335.

We would like to thank the Calvert County Core Service Agency, Charles County Department of Health Core Service Agency and St. Mary's County Department of Aging and Human Services for their partnership in making peer support available to families in Southern Maryland.
