On April 2, MCF was pleased to recognize its 12th class of Family Leadership Institute (FLI) graduates. This intensive 60-hour, six-weekend training experience is designed to train caregivers to become advocates in their communities and at the state level. The 2016 class was comprised of 25 caregivers from across the state, including grandmothers, foster parents, moms and dads. Participants came from across Maryland, including Western Maryland and the upper and lower Eastern Shore.
“I have learned so much more than I imagined I would. I loved the variety of topics….Also, the friendships I have developed…are very strong.”
“An experience that I will never forget and one that has changed my life. FLI provides the respite needed for very key and important members of the community, empowering us to better serve ourselves and the world.”
Thank you to the Maryland State Department of Education and Maryland Behavioral Health Administration for their support of this program, to our fabulous presenters, and to our partners throughout the state who helped us recruit participants for the class of 2016.
