Taking Time for a Little Self-Care as You Spring Clean

Spring is a time of new beginnings.  It is also a time that people look to undertake some major housekeeping.  There are a few things that you can do to declutter your life and nurture your spirit:

  1. Get rid of clothes that no longer fit you.  If you have outgrown some of your old clothes, keeping them around only serves to make you feel bad about your body.  Donating them or throwing them out not only makes room in your closets and dressers, it affirms your acceptance of yourself the way you are.  Read more.

  2. Throw out needless mementos.  Over the years we gather trinkets and other memorabilia.  Many of these just serve to take up space, or worse, to promote our hanging on to times that are long past.  Resolve to be more forward-looking and rid yourself of excess old baggage.

  3. Let go of resentments.  Holding onto grudges only makes us sick in spirit.  You have the power to forgive in order to release yourself from the heavy weight of resentments, and enjoy a renewed freedom.
