2018 is an important election year for Marylanders. In addition to the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, many other national and state political offices are up for election.
It is important to register to vote and then to exercise your right to vote. Primary elections are coming up – they will be held on June 26, and you must be registered to vote before June 5 to participate in Maryland’s primary elections. In addition, you must be registered as a Democrat or Republican to vote in the primary election – people registered as independents can only vote in the general election in November.
The Maryland Coalition of Families takes no position on candidates or political parties, but rather we do monitor issues that we believe are important to families who care for someone with behavioral health needs. When important pieces of legislation come up, we will highlight them on our website, in our newsletter, in action alerts and at our Family Day in Annapolis early next year.
