Wondering if the Family Leadership Program is Right for You?
You're not alone!
MCF's Family Leadership Program offers caregivers of children with mental and behavioral health challenges unique and exciting opportunities to learn, connect, and amplify their voice to make meaningful change in their communities. Below are answers to some of the most common questions applicants ask us as they weigh whether the Program is right for them!
Do I have to attend both days of the program?
Yes. We know that the magic of the Family Leadership Program can only happen when participants get the opportunity to fully engage with the other participants and immerse themselves in the workshops . You owe it to yourself to get all you can out of this incredible program.
Can I bring my children?
Children are not permitted to attend the program. This is for the benefit of all participants so that everyone can fully enjoy the experience. MCF can provide a small stipend to help with childcare costs if needed.
What if I don’t have transportation to get to the hotel where the event will be held?
No problem! MCF can arrange for an Uber driver to pick you up and bring you to the hotel and then transport you home again when the program is over!
Do I have to spend the night in the hotel?
While staying in the hotel is optional, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to get a good night’s rest and practice a little self-care! After the program ends on Friday night, all the participants have the chance to get to know each other and connect through their shared experiences as parents and caregivers which is one of the most highly rated portions of the program. And remember - the cost of the hotel room is on us!
Will I have anything in common with other participants?
Absolutely! The power of the Family Leadership Program is the connection it provides to caregivers who all face similar challenges. And, the Program leaders also have lived experience caring for children with mental and behavioral health challenges. There's no doubt you will be in a room of people who are or have been in the same challenging situations. This is a great opportunity to give and receive help from people who truly understand the challenges you and your family are facing.
