FY23 Impact Report

“It’s no secret that communities across the country are facing unprecedented mental health and substance use crises. With high demand for services and treatment and a shortage of behavioral healthcare professionals, the need for family peer support has never been greater.”

Maryland Coalition of Families is ready to meet the challenges ahead. With a new strategic plan, durable blueprint for long-term sustainability and solidly built infrastructure, as well as a dedicated, knowledgeable and highly skilled workforce, MCF is poised to meet the increasing needs of people who love or care for someone with a mental health, substance use or problem gambling challenge.

Family Peer Support offers the type of help no other provider can. We bring our own personal experience caring for someone with behavioral health challenges to work with us every day and use what we have learned to help others on similar journeys. Through one-to-one emotional support, resource connection, systems navigation, and opportunities to build natural support systems and improve knowledge and skills, our Family Peer Support Specialists provide life-altering help to those who need it most.

And the number of those who need our help is growing. You might even know someone who could benefit from MCF’s services. With a 33% increase in families served in FY23 and a behavioral health workforce shortage, more people are seeking family peer support services. After you have read the stories and seen the need highlighted by our Impact Report, we hope you will consider making a donation to support our work. No amount is too small and every contribution counts.

Together we can meet the needs and elevate the voices of Maryland families.
